DriveWorks - It’s Not Just for Engineers

Yesterday DriveWorks held their weekly “Let’s talk about…”. If you’re using DriveWorks and not attending these you should. Yesterday we talked about integration and the many ways that DriveWorks can “talk” to other systems and other systems can “talk” to DriveWorks. The DriveWorks team themselves use DriveWorks to integrate with many other systems so that they have one cohesive system where data is entered once and becomes available everywhere.

Whether it is your ERP system to create an item or bill of material, or it’s your CRM to update an opportunity or UPS to calculate a freight cost to add it to your quote, DriveWorks is incredibly versatile. While the modeling design automation inside of SolidWorks is incredibly powerful, if you really want to move the needle in productivity you’ll ultimately want to turn your attention to integration.

If you own DriveWorks and you’re only using it for design automation, reach out to us and we will be more than happy to give you some quick feedback on areas where we can help. We have a current client who was updating pricing tables by hand. This process was typically done every several months. As we all know, the volatility of materials is at a level that we’ve never seen. This data lives in their ERP and once connected, we will be able to eliminate this now regular task of updating pricing tables manually. Reach out to us today and let us help.
