Base 10 - Focused.
We always approach our work guided by our 10 core values.
4. Focused.
Focus. Per Merriam Webster:
1: a subject that is being discussed or studied: the subject on which people's attention is focused
2: a main purpose or interest He's successful, but he feels that his life lacks focus. His life lacks a focus.
3: technical: a point at which rays of light, heat, or sound meet or from which they move apart or appear to move apart
Mr. Webster's take on this is an interesting one! Many people probably associate the typical use of the word focus to the first two definitions above. What we're talking about here is the third definition.
I know, I know, "Lasers! Now you've got my attention..." Indeed not as cool as lasers, but perhaps more potent in many other characteristics.
We're talking about being so wholly focused; time goes by without thinking, and incredible work lays at your feet to a level of polish that is extremely rare. Work that you admire. Feeling it was your very best work.
We've all been there, some more than others and in days completely blown while catching up on emails and meetings or jumping onto a fire to take care of something more urgent. Base 10 will never take on more business that doesn't allow us to focus solely on you and your problem.
“Focus is a matter of deciding what things you’re not going to do.”
- John Carmack
